Greenhill Methodist Scout Group charges a membership fee, commonly known as ‘Subs’, short for Subscriptions. We need to make a membership charge to cover three main expenses for the Beaver, Cub Scout and Scout sections. These three main expenses are:
- to pay rent to the Church for the use of the Scout Hut
- to pay membership fees to the Scout Association both nationally and locally
- to pay for programme expenses, craft items, badges and other activities.
. This subscription has been set at £108 pa, preferably payable in 12 monthly instalments of £9 by standing order or in three instalments of £36 at the beginning of each of the Spring, Summer and Autumn terms. Where two or more siblings are members of the Group there is a reduced payment for the subsequent members, of £7.50 per month or £30 per term.
We try to make Scouting accessible to all, but if you are worried that Scouting is not affordable for your family, please discuss your concerns with a Section Leader, or if you would prefer, talk to the Group Scout leader, Steve Winnard. There are also Scouting charities within Sheffield that can make grants to help with the expense of attending events like camps, if you want more details please ask.
The details of the arrangements are given in a letter from the Group Chairman and Group Scout Leader downloadable here: Letter to parents December 2014 To pay by standing order down load the mandate here: Scout Std Ord and return to your Section Leader at a weekly meeting or to the Group Administrator:
