On the evening of Monday 17th June 229th Greenhill Scouts met at the Lady Canning’s Plantation carpark Ringinglow for a bike ride along Houndkirk Road. Eighteen Scouts attended along with two parent helpers and three Leaders. The Scouts rode the length of Houndkirk to the far end, which looks down towards the Fox House Inn and Longshaw Estate. Here we stopped for a drink and a photo opportunity.
For the photos take a look in the Gallery tab of the web site.
On the return trip we turned off along the top of the plantation and, after a little persuasion, all the Scouts rode the ‘Blue Steel’ mountain bike trail down through the woods. Fortunately all the Scouts emerged at the finish, intact and still smiling.
The whole event lasted 90 minutes and was suitable for all abilities.
